Sara Ferrari, Vice Director of La Rotta dei Fenici – Itinerario Culturale del Consiglio d’Europa, presented ECO-SEAROUTES for the first time at the III Sun & Blue Congress on Blue Tourism and Economy in Almeria, Spain, on November 20, 2025.
The session, titled “Management and decentralisation of tourism flows in maritime and blue destinations” was moderated by Josep Rodríguez, Strategic Projects Head at the Tourism Department of Barcelona Provincial Council. It brought together representatives from three Interreg Euro-MED Programme projects—TOURISMO, PortCREW, and ECO-SEAROUTES—alongside Melilla Port Authority.
Together, the panel showcased measures and initiatives aimed at improving the monitoring and management of tourism flows in port and nautical destinations, while developing strategies for decentralisation to reduce pressure on overcrowded coastal areas.
The session also featured:
- Denis Grasso, Project Manager at Fondazione Istituto sui Trasporti e la Logistica (Italy)
- Luis J. Ayala Navarro, Director of Melilla Port Authority (Spain)
- Ivo Benzon, Advisor for EU Programmes at RERA S.D. Split Dalmatia County (Croatia)
The Congress provided an important platform to introduce ECO-SEAROUTES approach to sustainable Mediterranean tourism and foster dialogue with fellow European projects working toward similar goals in the blue economy sector.
