What we achieve

The project produces one core output consisting of the ECO-SEAROUTES Itineraries and Community Heritage Hubs paradigm, whose transnational methodology and field-based testing define a new touristic model functional for policy makers, decision makers and economic players in the tourism industries to reduce pollution and resource consumption in MED coastal areas.

Design and testing actions oriented to the production of the project output are expected to have a significant impact in terms of:

  • Enhancement of MED ports adopting sustainable practices through transnational networking;
  • Reduced pressure on coastal natural sites– diversification of the tourism offer, explicated in lowered tourism density in coastal destinations in favour of a more efficient valorisation of the hinterlands and their cultural heritage.
